Description

(This is a hands-on lab with limited capacity)

10 years of DDD Europe. Over 20 years of DDD. Stories, experiences, struggles, and lessons learned.

In this interactive workshop, we invite you to take part in a retrospective of DDD — to look back, learn together, and imagine what’s next.

Using a series of Liberating Structures (the facilitation kind), we’ll explore which DDD patterns and practices remain timeless — and which must evolve.

Join us if any of these questions spark your curiosity:

• Which DDD philosophies and principles have stood the test of time, regardless of changing trends? • What DDD assumptions or practices might be holding us back?? • What must evolve for DDD to stay alive and relevant? • What new possibilities open up when DDD meets adjacent practices? • What kind of community do we want to be in the next decade? • How can we make DDD an attractor for the next generation of practitioners?

This session is for both new and experienced DDD practitioners. Expect curiosity, movement, ambiguity, and honest reflection about ourselves, our craft, and the sociotechnical complexity we tackle in the heart of our software.

Our goal isn’t to define the next big DDD trend, but to rediscover its liberating spirit — the courage to inquire, connect, and evolve our practice together.

Join us as we celebrate a decade of DDD Europe by shaping the next chapter — one conversation at a time.

About Martin Günther

Martin has been consulting and supporting companies in the implementation of their software projects as a software architect and agile coach for many years. He always has the big picture in mind, looking for the boundaries that naturally divide the domain into conceptual units in order to build robust and efficient systems from these parts. Additionally, his profound experience in facilitating workshops helps him to accompany groups in their process of gaining insights and decision-making and to enable all team members to interact in an appreciative and effective manner.
