Description

What if UX research could keep up with the speed of modern product development - without losing its soul? This talk is the story of how we invented automated UX research using a method we call vibe coding. In a startup-paced environment with no dedicated UX researcher and a mountain of unanswered questions, we had to act fast. So we built a scalable, self-service testing framework using Figma Make and our own creativity. The result? A prototype system that allowed us to capture real user behavior - clicks, misclicks, time-on-task, success rates - while letting users record their screen and voice. It’s async, it’s flexible, and it’s brutally efficient. Within one week, we had quantitative data from dozens of real users and could reserve our precious time for deep, targeted interviews. This was more than a hack: it was a shift in how UX research can live inside rapid prototyping cycles, powered by creative tooling, async collaboration, and a willingness to redefine "good enough" for the early stages. I’ll show how this system works, what we learned (the good, the bad, the hilarious), and how other teams can adapt it - even if they’re short on researchers, time, or budget. Because fast-paced innovation shouldn’t mean designing in the dark.

Why this talk matters: As product teams scramble to stay lean and move fast, UX research is too often sidelined or rushed. This talk offers an alternative: a practical, proven method to keep users in the loop - even when time and resources are tight. It challenges the idea that rigorous UX research is always slow, and opens up new ways to think about speed, empathy, and feedback at scale.

In the age of AI, we forget how to use our knowledge, how to apply the UX best practices in order to deliver value to the users. This talk emphasizes the relevance of the critical thinking and the human factor of UX research.
