“How do we actually introduce Domain-Driven Design in our company?” If you’ve ever asked this question, regardless of your company’s size, you’re not alone. Rather than offering abstract theory, this talk shares a behind-the-scenes account of our two-year transformation journey with DDD.
For two years, we have continuously discovered the past, the present, and the future. The result? A much sharper product, a more resilient and decoupled architecture, and stronger teams with a common purpose, autonomy, and mastery.
Our transformation isn’t over, but we’ve crossed the point of no return. Join us as we share the pivotal moments, the mistakes helping us grow and the keys to this success, from the perspectives of an engineering manager leading a team and a staff architect driving change across the organisation. Whether you’re about to begin or are deep in your own DDD journey, this session will give you the inspiration to move forward with confidence.
About Ghizlane Aroussi
Hi there ! For the past five years, I've been on a rewarding journey as an engineering manager—leading teams, learning continuously, and striving to make work just a little more human (and fun!). Before stepping into management, I rolled up my sleeves as a 3D developer then a full stack engineer, building web and mobile experiences and solving bugs :) Today, I have the joy (and sometimes the challenge!) of managing both a vibrant team of software engineers and a dynamic group of RPA engineers. My mission? To design reliable and scalable systems and to foster a culture where experimentation is encouraged and where everyone feels they’re in the right place. People, communication patterns, and the ever-evolving world of work fascinate me. I’m especially intrigued by how AI will reshape our jobs. At PayFit, I’m currently navigating our transition to Domain-Driven Design while experimenting with team topologies, the 360 impact on the organization business, people and tech wise is fascinating. I believe in tackling technical debt gracefully and my goal is to do so while delivering business value and empowering teams to take ownership and make decisions. More than happy to share my learnings and acquire new ideas on the way!About Krisztina Hirth
Software engineer for over 20 years, always looking for the right way to deliver reliable, resilient and expandable value through software, knowledge and empathy. As a staff architect at PayFit, I help all teams leverage the benefits of Domain-driven Design by understanding the real problems and discovering the best-fitting models before investing in solutions. I believe that agility is nothing else than feedback-driven development, that DDD and domain modelling reduce the waste of energy, time and future technical debt, and that work must be fun.
